Harurwa consumed as delicacy in Masvingo but Claude Maredza says, “there is more people need to know.”

Harurwa is an insect, consumed as a delicacy mostly in the Masvingo province of Zimbabwe. The insect is naturally light green in colour. It’s usualy prepared by roasting and salting it. In Masvingo Harurwa roasted , ready to eat, are sold by villagers at road sides in areas such as Bikita, Nyika, Zaka, Jerera and others.Maduo a ditshwantsho a Harurwa from Masvingo

Claude Maredza  ,have for a long time been fascinated with the harurwa insects which are found in his  village Norumedzo village, in Bikita, Masvingo Province here in Zimbabwe. He wrote a book  about how harurwa insects originated inoder to quench his curiosity  and followed up with a documentary film. After that he always thought that there are some medicinal properties in harurwa.  According to Maredza   , he  declared that he proven right when he led a team of scientists who indeed  have proved that harurwa have   the essential fatty acids of Omega 3, Omega 6 and Omega 9 and It doesn’t end there , there is also phosphorus in harurwa . He said ,” This has led to the production of harurwa nutraceutical  , each harurwa Nutraceutical capsule weighs about a gram which is equal to 2 harurwas in powder form  and this capsules are taken as a medicinal food to heal many ailments.”  Maredza  have sent the capsules to various places including the office of the President in view of the government’s thrust to promote indigenous knowledge systems but still haven’t heard as little as just an    acknowledgement of receipt. He is looking for government and financiers to assist him to  enlarge his noble cause.

Claude Maredza is a 58year old Zimbabwean married with three sons and two daughters.Presently is studying for a doctorate in business admnistration with University of Liverpool. He has held several senior positions in commerce and industry. He is a writer and an author of seven books which include harurwa the true but amazing mystery of norumedzo

A Lesson To Learn from Stateless 14-Year-Old Thai Cave Survivor Who Knows 5 Languages .

The sport of soccer  have united many nations and changed life of many people. Here in Zimbabwe when you talk of soccer many people are reminded of Peter Ndlovu who hailed from the dust streets of Makokoba  Bulawayo  became the earliest football ambassador in Zimbabwe and first black player in Africa to play in English League . Many young people in Zimbabwe joined the sport of soccer because of great adoration on Peter Ndlovu. Sport can be a liberating medium which takes you from nobody to riches.Maduo a ditshwantsho a Thai Stateless cave survivor who acted as translator

My main focus  is on a displaced teen who escaped conflicts in Myanmar nearly a decade ago emerged as a hero after he and his soccer team became trapped in a Thai cave, using his proficiency in multiple languages to assist in coordinating the rescue mission with divers and officials. Adul-Sam-on was only 6 years old when he fled his home country. His parents slipped him out of the self-governing Wa region — well-known for guerrilla warfare and drug trafficking — and into Thailand with the hopes that he would have a better life and receive an education there. Adul  played a vital role in helping British divers communicate with other survivors. At 14, he does not have an official home and is not a citizen of any country. He’s considered “stateless,” but Adul is the top student in his class at the Ban Wiang Phan School in Mae Sai, where 20% of the students are similarly considered stateless. His academic record and his soccer skills have also earned him free tuition and daily lunch. As it turns out, the young man , who is described as “stateless,” serve as a translator because of his proficiency in multiple languages. Adul-Sam-on knows Thai, Wa, Burmese, Mandarin, and English.

The lesson I have learnt from the young man is to embrace human diversity and learn more languages and cultures. His game shows us the neutrality and sanity of sport ,his game goes beyond national boundaries and borders cutting across diverse cultures and nationalities. The world is now in the one Global village. You can create your own barrier for your destiny   because of  language barrier. The fighting spirit in the boy , in remaining determined, passion and consistence  about life. That is the spirit that has kept successful football players in the field. Some young people who are suppose to be great in future, break up when circumstances comes on there way. They will not know how to handle the situation but Adul overcame that  . Without doubt soon the big football clubs from Europe will inherit Adul and his colleagues . Difficult moments can be a ladder to greatness depending on how you handle it. Your mind need positive settings . At a time when everyone is praising the heroes who helped save the kids and their coach in the seemingly impossible rescue that cost former Thai Navy Seal Saman Gunan his life, it’s also important to remember the heroes like Adul-Sam-on who helped his teammates out when they needed it the most. You are never born a hero but you work to have that recognition. You need a fighting spirit .Your present situation is not your tomorrow. Remember we respond to whims of nature but you have to fight the odds of it.  Adul performance and the steps he is taken should help create an opportunity for some other young people still stuck in the caveman days of poverty, illiteracy and lack of access to sporting opportunities both at home and abroad.

Zimbabwe Citizens Vote For People With Progressive Minds!

The purpose of the elections is to elect the few elite people who can represent us in the places of authority. The money in the world can make you rich and all the power in the  world can make you strong, but these things can not make you a leader. We need true leadership in government,House of assembly and local government.l think leadership
has  to be a role one plays than a life one leads. We are approaching the harmonizing elections the fever of elections is being felt in all corners of Zimbabwe.Lets preach unity and peace .We are one family despite your race ,color we are one ,lets elect the rightful
people to represent us ,people who can deliver  not people who are going to enrich themselves (greedy). The people  who be busy evangelizing  for all these political parties  are youths ,women and few elderly men. As citizens of Zimbabweans we want equality and progress.Image result for Zimbabwe flag

Enough is enough to see the youths being used in politics and paid with few dirty coins , few pieces of meat and beer as  token of appreciation. The youths are the ones being used to do all donkey work after the elections they are dumped. Majority of our citizens are suffering .Majority of our youth haven’t  yet knocked the door of employment. Our youths
perished in foreign lands. We became slaves in foreign countries. SA burnt some Zimbabweans alive and  are prone to  xenophobic attacks. We are tired of politicians who think of their stomachs not about future generation. Everyone knows where we are coming from as a nation and the most affected are youths . We went through a lot as a nation especially youths, we called for credible policies no one hear us. I call upon the citizens of Zimbabwe  vote wisely during the harmonizing  elections .I believe lets vote for fresh people with progressive minds .Lets support youths. It’s our time to be the torch bearers . We are the defenders of  the integrity of this nation. During the tenure of colonial bondage youths rose to liberate our beloved country . I’ts high time for youths to take lead and our elders take the seat of alderman-ship  .

Youths are not a security threat but love to have a better  life.I am sending a warning to those who  use youths for selfishness ambitions during elections.Don’t take advantage of poverty  or lack the youths are facing; never manipulate our youths with few
slices of bread . We want leaders who  lead by example by upgrading the standard of living of those youths unlike using them for a short period and dump them. Let’s help our youths not get lured into human trafficking, drug abuse, prostitution etc. Politicians , elections are around the corner never use youths to do evil to educe fear to electorate but demonstrate your vision to the masses.  We want visionaries and innovators . Most youths don’t have anything to write about. Our politicians are greedy people and don’t mind about our masses. Conflict of interest. Cash crisis at its high level . Red tape is now daily bread in our public offices. Its high time to vote for people with progressive minds . We are tired of poverty , living as second class citizens ,  and not able to full partaking in economy rebuilding. We are fed up of greedy people in public offices who blocks innovations and development. Workers are not  full represented in our country. We want a better Zimbabwe not hero worshiping each other on empty promises. We say big No. We need credible free and fair elections in our country. No free and fair elections no progress. I don’t support any political party but let the elections ground be fair. This is a crucial election ever going to take place in Zimbabwe and ZEC let the ground be favorable to all competitors. No free and fair no progress. We are tired of being manipulated into useless citizens.

The Sierra Leonean Teen Who Taught Himself Engineering At Age 13

Poverty is in mind . Born poor is not a crime but accepting the state of poverty is a crime. Poverty is not good .It causes other people to commit crimes. You need to first fight the poverty mentality . Kelvin Doe is a young Sierra Leonean self educated engineer. He is a child from a very poor district of Sierra Leone’s capital city Freetown. The area is in such rough shape, with electricity so intermittent, that the lights will only come up once a week.Maduo a ditshwantsho a Kelvin DoeHillary Clinton and Kelvin Doe

Kelvin Doe is born in 1996 in Freetown, Sierra Leone. He learned engineering alone and at the age of 13 he realised his own radio station, where he plays music and broadcasts news under the name of “DJ Focus.” He used discarded pieces of scrap to build transmitters, generators, and batteries, and many other incredible electronic devices.

Kelvin, together with his team, was a winner of Global minimum’s Innovate Salone 2012 — the inaugural high school innovation challenge in Sierra Leone. He had built a radio station for his community out of recycled materials, in addition to homemade batteries and a generator. Kelvin was selected to travel to the U.S. in 2012, where he was invited to speak at the “Meet the Young Makers” panel at the World Maker Faire 2012 in New York.Kelvin officially became the youngest ever “visiting practitioner” with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) International Development Initiative. At MIT, he presented his inventions to students in two D-Lab classes, engaged with community members at MIT, and participated in hands-on research at the MIT Media Lab. He has also lectured to undergraduate engineering students at Harvard College.Kelvin has become one of the most respected of young African inventors in the world. He has in his short career meet various world leaders including Trudeau and Ghanaian President Nana Afuko-Addo. He has been able to speak to many young people in Africa on many different platforms. In 2016, Kelvin became an Honorary Board member of Emergency USA. This is an organization with a mission to provide free medical care to victims of war and poverty around the world. Whatever Kelvin’s future will look like is anyone’s guess but at least for the meantime, it appears he’ll be spending his time learning and living in Canada.

Don’t let environment determine your tomorrow.  Kelvin never let the history or poverty state of his community determine the progress of his mentality. Try to fight by all odds . Fight the negative mindset  that you can’t make it .You will make it . Learn from others who have made it. Don’t abort your vision go for it.

Great moments are born from great opportunity. If you can imagine it ,you can achieve it. If you can dream it , you can become it. No matter where you are today .It should be not the yardstick to determine your tomorrow . Today , I am touching a story of a young man soon after high school tempted from being a DJ, to working as a primary school teacher. But his first full-time job was in the central reservations department at Meikles Hotel, Harare, back in 2003 and previously worked in the hospitality sector in Dubai. His name is Simba Mhuriro ,  the founder and Managing Director of Oxygen Energy Private Limited, an independent power producer and renewable energy development company that specialises in utility scale power plants and commercial rooftop projects. Maduo a ditshwantsho a Did Simba Mhuriro      Russian President Vladmir Putin and M D of Oxygen Simba Mhuriro

Success is measured  when you discover a need in your community and provide a solution on it. Almost 90 percent men are busy men only 10 percent are business men being busy does not mean you are a business man. An elephant works for 20 hours and sleeps for only 4 hours yet it feeds on grass , we have to change our mindset and work smart. Simba , have demonstrated on steps on how to become a vibrant entrepreneur.Oxygen is currently developing 50MW rooftop solar project with Old Mutual Property Zimbabwe, the largest property investment managers in Zimbabwe; as well as a second with Minerva Risk Advisors, a leading provider of risk management services, insurance and reinsurance brokerage and employee benefits consulting in Zimbabwe. In 2018, Simba was named by Forbes Magazine as one of the Africa’s 30 most promising young entrepreneurs. Maasai Boy behind invention of Lion Lights

Tough times are like physical exercise .You may not like it while you are doing it but tomorrow you’ll be stronger because of it. Difficult doesn’t mean impossible. It simply means you need to work hard . Sometimes a burden can be a way for you to make history. Richard Turere  became a hero in his community after establishing the solution to what was the burden to his family and community.Richard understood by age 11 that while he hated the lions, his people needed a better solution and eventually, with patience and keen observation, he came up with it! Richard Turere is a young Maasai man who lives in the wilderness of the Kenya savanna, on the edge of a national park full of rhino, giraffe, buffalo and lions. Since he was 9, Richard has held the honored chore of tending his father’s cattle; in his free time, he tinkered with electrical gadgets. After dismantling the few household appliances, Richard taught himself how to fix them, and then he started inventing. He fit his parents’ home with fans made from car parts and other junkyard components harvested from junkyards, then built other inventions for his neighbors. He is renowned for inventing “lion lights,” a fence made of basic pieces (solar charging cells, flashlight parts), which quickly and effectively scares lions away from his father’s cattle. His invention makes peace with lions.Image result for Richard Turere

The lion attacks ceased and soon neighbours were asking for him to set up similar systems around their farms. The cattle were also calmer because the lights meant that they could see the land around was safe.Based on this invention, Turere won a scholarship to Brookhouse School.

Don’t give up .The moment you want to quit , is the moment when you need to keep pushing. The solution and development of your community is in your community. If yesterday did not end up the way you wanted , just remember God created today for you to start a new. God gives the best to those who leave the choice to him.You will make it in life.
