African Innovation and the World

In Genesis 1vs1-31 ,In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day. Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.Man is a result of creativity,The Almighty blessed man with innovative mindset.Innovation is a new idea, device or process.Innovation can be viewed as the application of better solutions that meet new requirements, in articulated needs, or existing market needs. This is accomplished through more effective products, processes, services, technologies, or ideas that are readily available to markets, governments and society. The term innovation can be defined as something original and, as a consequence, new, that “breaks into” the market or society.Innovation differs from invention in that innovation refers to the use of a better and, as a result, novel idea or method, whereas invention refers more directly to the creation of the idea or method itself. Innovation differs from improvement in that innovation refers to the notion of doing something different rather than doing the same thing better. The Almighty God has blessed us as the whole world with abundances of natural resources ,fresh waters and  air.

The Almighty God made man to be the steward of everything under the planet earth and to be so innovative so that he can beautify and develop it .In Exodus 35vs31-32 ,And he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold and silver and bronze.According to Peter F. Drucker the general sources of innovations are different changes in industry structure, in market structure, in local and global demographics, in human perception, mood and meaning, in the amount of already available scientific knowledge, etc.

If you mention Africa ,the first words that come  into someone’s mind  is its vast amounts of untapped natural resources. The Mining industry of the Democratic Republic of the Congo is rich in natural resources. DR Congo is estimated to have $24 trillion (equivalent to the combined Gross Domestic Product of Europe and the United States) worth of untapped deposits of raw mineral ores, including the world’s largest reserves of cobalt and significant quantities of the world’s diamonds, gold and copper.Instead of these blessings from the Almighty God for the Congolese it is vise-verse poverty , unrest is hitting DRC left, right  and center.Much of the resource extraction is done in small operations known as “Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining” which are unregulated in the DRC.The major unrest in other parts of DRC has scared some Innovators to bring new ideas of mining to DRC.Innovation goes hand and hand with peace and stability.Lets stand up for Africa  and for Africans to enjoy there resources .Who can come up with mining and agriculture techniques which shall be easy for Africa to harness her resources without depending on other continents?African countries are signing mega deals with big conglomerates  from other continents and it is looking lucrative in our eyes but after decades our children will realize that there will still be  slaves to those agreements.Africa as whole needs proper planning  for example a mineral audit will  help us know the  worth  of our untapped deposits of raw mineral ores.

Clearly, the reason that the whole world businesses are need of innovation is that we are living in an increasingly technological world and, for any business to consistently earn a return, it needs to develop technology .Innovation” is one of the most ‘abused” words in corporate corridors today, that some truly innovative companies have banned the use of the term. Managers think that they can force their people to innovate, with a deadline to do so, under a highly bureaucratic system of working .Innovation skills transform the useful inputs of invention into widely adopted solutions valued above every existing alternative.Although innovation is often targeted at solving a defined need, it includes risk.  Its outcomes and the effort required to solve the need are not entirely known when the work was undertaken.  The term ‘intended’ is one way to help recognize that innovation activities have an explicit aspect of risk.Often “Breakthrough Innovations” are in fact inventions and should be treated differently from innovations.

Innovation is the application of a solution to create something new that is intended to provide greater value than predecessors.
