Let’s Unlock Potential in our African Youth.

My heart is bleeding for betterment of an African Youth. Who can identify the potential in  our youth in Africa ? Its our duty as an African family to develop our youth into better people. I am moved when I watch news seeing families in Africa being displaced because of famine , civil unrest , political turmoil , religion uprising ,terrorism extra. The current nature of global conflict and the array of threats confronting African Nations require now solutions and pooling of ideas to shape a comprehensive and conclusive response.

My Focus is on untapped potential in African youth. We have many inventors in Africa and Singers whose talent is dying without any helper helped them. An invention involves an inventive step if , when compared with what is already known, it would not be obvious to someone with a good knowledge and experience of the subject . Yes , Africa used to be called the dark continent but now the light is shifting towards Africa .In Kenya Richard Turere is a young Maasai man who lives in the wilderness of the Kenya savanna, on the edge of a national park full of rhino, giraffe, buffalo and lions. Since he was 9, Richard has held the honored chore of tending his father’s cattle; in his free time, he
tinkered with electrical gadgets. After dismantling the few household appliances, Richard taught himself how to fix them, and then he started inventing. He fit his parents’ home with fans made from car parts and other junkyard components harvested from junkyards, then built other inventions for his neighbors. Now almost 17, he is renowned for inventing “lion lights,” a fence made of basic pieces (solar charging cells, flashlight parts), which quickly and effectively scares lions away from his father’s cattle. The young man never limited himself with formal education and geographical location .He is a ground breaker. Still in Kenya , there is a young vibrant entrepreneur who have made it in business circles . His name is Mubarak Muyika .Muyika was orphaned at the age of 10, thrived at school and turned down a scholarship to Harvard to become an entrepreneur. When he was 16, he founded Hypecentury Technologies, a web hosting company. He sold the company two years later to Wemps Telecoms in a six-figure deal. Muyika’s new venture, Zagace, which has raised funding from local investors, is a cloud enterprise software that helps companies manage inventory such as accounting, payroll, stock management, marketing and many more all bundled in a simple and easy to use format called Zag apps.In Zimbabwe , Sangulani  Chikumbutso dropped out of Form 2 . He had been brought up in a poor, high-density suburb by a single mother after his father had absconded. Chikumbutso’s journey started in 1997 when he started experimenting with various technologies while in Kuwadzana. At one point he was profiled on ZBCTV as a prominent young man in the innovation industry. He developed the first Green Power Prototype generator which produces 100% clean consumable energy using Radio Frequencies. In 1999, he built his first successful project which was a Radio broadcast transmitter for which he made the headlines on ZBC news. He started broadcasting, though illegally. The project fell away due to lack of funding. Today Chikumbutso has  made headlines for his serial innovations which include the world’s first ever green power generator which can produce electricity using radio frequencies, an electric powered car which doesn’t consume fuel, a multi-fueled helicopter and many more.

We have talented young Africans in areas of entrepreneurship etc .We need one another as Africans we can’t do without each other.Lets develop Africa . Lets not sideline each other views and the resources. Irregardless of our station in life. Every son and daughter of the African soil has a right to participate in resource mobilization and capacity utilization so as to fully benefit as citizens of the continent. Let’s ensure that youth are meaningful involvement in country level affairs before they get lured into terrorism, xenophobia, drug trafficking and other vices.

I am appealing to corporate world ,governments ,NGO etc to sponsor/work with me on my campaign to start an awareness on profiling young Africans entrepreneurs or in there area of gifts , helping in discovering the untapped potentials in our youth in Africa. The awareness is to help our to believe in themselves and be able to think out of box.  For this framework to succeed I want to  implement it  as an Africa wide project where I  will visit and have a continuous dialogue with Africans leaders or there proxies (AU) , Schools,Universities, rural areas etc . These is a high stakes diplomatic project that’s needs Africa’s commitment in addressing the concerns of continent citizens.

I urge all youths in our continent to be in involved in nation building of your country .You are our leaders of tomorrow. Participate in elections of your nations and choose the rightful people into office of authorities. Remove obstacles in your eyes .See positive. You are destined for greatness.
