Africa waking up from economic slumber

THE Chinese bamboo is an amazing tree. Its seed stays underground for five years without germinating, but when it does, it grows 50 feet in one week. What is important is not how long it delays but how fast it grows. Don’t give up on your dreams on Africa no matter how long it stays underground. It’s a matter of time, you need the staying power. The Chinese bamboo seed lies underground waiting for the right time to shoot out. Africa, once dubbed the black continent, has started emitting light. No situation is permanent. Africa needs the citizens to focus on future generations. Who is going to stand up and say I am ready to rebuild Africa?Image result for Paul Kagame imagePaul Kagame, the President of Rwanda

Previously, Africa had been failing to realise economic growth, this was mainly caused by inaccessibility to information by Africans who are supposed to effectively take part in their economies. Now an average African can access vital economic information through the increased use of technology in economic and business affairs. This has closed the gap between the African economies and the rest of the world.

Ten years ago, it was almost impossible for an ordinary African to communicate with the rest of the world. These ordinary citizens are now empowered and have become the driver of the economy. Without a doubt such massive economic participation by ordinary citizens is a guarantee of a massive economic turnaround in Africa.

His Excellency Paul Kagame, the President of Rwanda, once said: “In Africa today, we recognise that trade and investments and not aid are major pillars of development.”

Ordinary Africans have for long been seen as people in need of donations. This was mainly because of passive economic participation. However, people in Africa are now active in the economy; they are now entrepreneurs instead of charity cases. This, therefore, rightfully supports and explains what Kagame meant when he said the above. The way to go is to believe in our capability and strategies for economic growth. Before laying the foundation, the first key to unlock is to believe.

Old Mutual group chief executive Julian Roberts said: “We wouldn’t be investing as much in the rest of Africa if we didn’t believe that Africa is going to be a success story in the next few decades.”

It’s true Africa will face economic difficulties here and there, but like every other economy in the world, it will recover and still grow.

“I have investments in 21 countries and despite the dwindling commodity prices and all the concerns being raised, my investments in Africa have not dwindled,” said Tony Elumelu, chairman of Heirs Holdings.

Activist Breathes fire On Parliamentarians Over Reforms

The reforms are suppose to be a done deal. Who was suppose to solve the issues ? It makes citizens to have a thousands unanswered questions in their mind about the caliber of our palimentarians which represent them .From the  look of things the August house members  failed to align various pieces of legislation  to the new constitution . Ms Abigale Mupambi, the leader of #THIS CONSTITUTION  had this  say on the issue of  reforms   ,” Zimbabwe is crying for reforms including the alignment of laws to the new constitution of 2013 ,our palimentarians collectively failed us ; I don’t know whether it was deliberate ,  ignorance and or total incompetence on the part of our parliamentarians because from GNU to date we had a reosanable balanced proportion of palimentarians from different political parties in parliament but its clear they never came up with meaningful progress on these policy issues .Surely if our parliamentarians could at one point agree on impeachment of the former President Mugabe why would they fail to agree on their number one mandate. “On another note, Mupambi added that, she strongly support the demonstration action by the people of Zimbabwe scheduled  for the 5th of june 2018 which is meant to register the voices of the people of Zimbabwe in demand for peaceful and perfect electoral field that can deliver free , fair and credible elections adding that the constitution of Zimbabwe gives way for such through section59. The reforms has created a stagnation on progress of the country. It seems people are still in old constitution mantra. For the past five years , activitists were calling for reforms .We witnessed many demonstrations but nothing was done. The implementation of political and economic reforms  are for a more stable and promising future for the Zimbabwean people,” PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa once pledged sweeping reforms to extricate the nation from the jaws of its past misery and ensure economic recovery and political stability ahead of crucial elections on the 30th July 2018 . Nothing had been done on the ground.Where were the palimentarians all the years? You can’t compare the current crop of members of parliament with guys who were there 1995 going back wards to 1980. Reforms leads to  betterment of the nation. No reforms no progress.

Beatrice Mtetwa,Harrison Nkomo,Thabani Mpofu Played A Big Role In Defending Human Rights In Zimbabwe

Human rights are rights inherent to all human beings, regardless of race, sex, nationality, ethnicity, language, religion, or any other status. Human rights include the right to life and liberty, freedom from slavery and torture, freedom of opinion and expression, the right to work and education, and many more. Everyone is entitled to these rights, without discrimination. Image result for Beatrice Mtetwa

When you mention of Human rights defenders/lawyers ,certain names pops up in people minds , the likes of Beatrice Mtetwa , Harrison Nkomo, Thabani Mpofu,Tawanda Zhuwarara e.t.c. Beatrice Mtetwa grew up on a Swaziland farm with nearly 50 siblings. An average day involved waking at 4am, working in the maize fields, preparing breakfast for her family, walking barefoot to school over an hour away, preparing dinner, doing chores and, finally, going to bed. Now a  prominent human rights defender,  a fearless human rights lawyer in Zimbabwe, dedicating her life to representing those persecuted under the Mugabe regime. In 2014 she was honoured among 10 extraordinary women from 10 countries presented with the US Secretary of State’s International Women of Courage Award. Several journalists and activists were subject to arbitrary arrest, harassment, and intimidation while participating in protests or reporting on demonstrations against human rights abuse .The field was big but laborers were few as many defenders were fearing for their life’s. Thabani Mpofu is among the brave cadres who remain resilient in fighting the gross abuse of human rights by the government .He is the Founder of the Thabani Mpofu Centre for Justice, which is a human Rights non-governmental organisation involved in human rights protection and advocacy. In 2014 he co-founded the Chambers – Advocates of Zimbabwe which is the biggest set of Chambers in the country. Thabani is an exceptional advocate who is highly sought after and has an exceptional success rate. He has argued in a lot of controversial issues and has been a human rights defender of note. There are people who have dedicated to see the rights of citizens being respected .Harrison Nkomo is among those defenders. He has handled international litigation at tribunals such as ACHPR – African Commission on People’s and Human Rights and African Court. Harrison is the Chairperson of the Media Centre of Zimbabwe, a Commissioner with the securities Commission of Zimbabwe, a member of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights and a member of the coalition of the African Court. He gained public attention when he represented Evan Mawarire in July 2016. Nkomo also represented war veteran Douglas Mahiya who was charged with insulting or undermining the authority of the president. This are part of cadres who risked their life’s to defend the voices of human rights who were incarcerated.

The rights of the masses in our beloved nation had been grossly abused. How many political activists were murdered and incarcerated  just because of politics and believing for your right. The likes of Rashiwe Guzha ,Itai Dzamara etc disappeared and never to be found again. Relatives and friends are still glued on their doors thinking that may be one day they will hear their beloveds knocking saying we are back. Time is running out to have that patience as most of them are now only holding to God for comfort. How many innocent people were killed during the Gukurahundi. Gukurahundi the moment of madness countrymen killing fellow countrymen. Hundreds disappeared and never came back home again. Majority were buried in shallow graves. For sure devil had infiltrated some of our people hearts. What is bad is bad?   Whatever the truth of this, it is clear that  innocent civilians were gruesomely killed, maimed or beaten and had their houses burnt during these years. In our culture we need to break our ego as countrymen. All the healing process needs political wisdom.

From all these, fear engulfed our people. Those who were in authority never did anything on corruption, abuse of public office ,resources being plundered for self enriching ,political violence .The State security  arms were now centered on protecting one person the former head of state not on citizens as whole . The State  Security arms are there to protect us as citizens of this beloved nation. I hope the current head of State is not following the past era. Our State Security Arms are public institutions  meant to safeguard the country from all enemies which might want to invade the sovereignty of our country and ensure citizens are enjoying the peace and  are at liberty to exercise their human right .Our Security Officials are professional people should not enter into politics/take sides in politics and I believe they can learn from what happened in November 2017. If you are a civil servant they work for government or help government to reach civilians. The constitution spells clearly about our Security officials  ethics -It’s unethical to involve yourself into politics when you are a civil servant. I believe and hope our Security officials we do all their best to demonstrate professionalism when approaching the well being of  human rights.

Since, November 2017 people can freely express their views unlike before and need to align ourselves to global opinion on how democratic freedoms are achieved in gradual but constant manner .Lastly but not least we need to tackle poverty in our people.

Who Has The Trump Card Mnangagwa/Chamisa, For Zimbabwe Turnaround?

If we start to appreciate one another and work as a team . I tell you Zimbabwe will be the best economical pillar of Africa. The issue is on lacking on clarity. What do we want as a nation? The political situation/artmosphere is a stumbling block of the progress of our nation as we are more divisive because of political affiliation . We have deficit in planning and implementation. You can’t compare the current crop of members of parliament and local government authority ward representatives and cabinet ministers with guys who were there 1995 going back wards to 1980. Few are competitive and eager to see betterment of the nation. Majority kutsvaga bag (its a platform of money spining). Where are we going as a nation? What happened to Zimasset ,Indigenization Community Share Ownership Schemes, Land Reform ?Image result for zimbabwe flag

Mugabe era is over but we are still not clear on economical and political reforms. All we don’t want are greedy people. The political  parties primaries elections had demonstrated   self centered syndrome among the people whom we are believing are going to represent us. The issue is that all our representatives are political owned not national/people owned. They should be difference between a political party and national approach. Let’s value our nation, it’s not an experimental ground. The most turmoil we are facing it’s politics and all political parties whether ruling or opposition have contributed to all this pandemonium we are facing as a nation. Yes , the ruling party should have done better as they have the keys of the country while the opposition (MDC T) should have done better in cities. Ladies and Gentlemen , we have suffered as whole nation beside your political affiliation. We have 98% Universities and College graduates who haven’t yet tasted the employment sector since the time they finished school. Making a living in Zimbabwe is thorn in a flesh. The most affected is the youth, majority of us we have nothing to write about; most young men can’t marry because they don’t have any means of making a living and they will try all the entrepreneurial ways the environment doesn’t support.

We have brilliant brains , highest rate of literacy in Africa and this will be a setting stone as new innovations will be birthed in our land and achours progress of our beloved country and environment is not permitting. Most of our brilliant people are helping other countries to develop. Poverty is number one enemy the country is facing. How many are eating a descent meal a day among our countrymen? A citizen with full stomach has a health mind and can concerate on developing unlike the citizen with empty stomach is always murmuring and no joy seeking a better environment of joy. Our fellow countrymen have crossed borders seeking better opportunities/greener pastures, some were eaten by crocodiles trying crossing Limpopo river and majority are living in those countries as illegal immigrants where they are treated as third class citizens. We have been reduced into destitutes. We need policies which promotes betterment of our people not to favor a few a elite. Voicing for betterment of our people it’s not a security threat .We can’t watch other countries milking our technocrats. Attitude dictates our response to the present and determines the quality of our future Zimbabwe.

If we do not control our attitude it will control us because attitudes creates our nation and designs our destiny. John F kenedy – he felt that he had to do something to help the poor and disadvantaged in his country and abroad. He inspired the nation to take care of those who were less fortunate, exemplified by his statement,” Ask not what your country can do for you, but what can you do for your countrymen.” Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, whom the world come to know as Mother Teresa was born in Skopje Macedonia. From the time she was a girl, she felt her life’s purpose was to serve God full-time. When she was eighteen, she became a nun and went to taught in a catholic high school for many years. During this time she witnessed the life of poverty and sickness that many people in India were leading. Her life’s purpose and passion crystallized as she felt called by God to help the “poorest of the poor” and devoted herself to bring hope, dignity, healing and education to the needy in Calcutta, those whom other people have dismissed as being either beyond help or not worthy. If you want to be a leader, then as Mother Teresa said,” Do not wait for other leaders, do it alone, person to person.” When you have a passion and purpose, you must act on it, even if you’re the only one who believes in it at the time. What have you done as a cabinet minister ,member of parliament ,senator and elected government authority representative ? Where you championing policies which can bring happiness and smiles on the faces of our countrymen ? Good policies creates environment which can birth better living standards.

The Zimbabwe environment had created room for corruption , abnormal taxes, illegal trading of money, poverty and  no development.Corruption kills the image and destiny of the nation. Let’s have citizens who have the heart for national economical rebuilding.
Lets take out systems which are creating barriers of progress of our country. Remove customs duties in our borders which are causing our people to suffer as they pay all the money they have on customs duties. Another issue to get a business permit that’s another story of bribery and corruption issues on and on; the system working against our progress. This has been going for many years . Who is going to stand for  our masses ? Let’s be realistic many citizens lost their jobs e.g the issue of Old Nic Mine in Bulawayo ,where workers are being victimized ? Their employer is  using  the system which is suppose to protect the  rights of workers because they have dollar power. Why should the rights of workers abused ? There is a scenario where the management is using some workers to defame other workers , some have been to courts and were made to pay admission of guilty of fines . Who should stand for all voiceless citizens ? Most of our representatives  in cabinet ,parliament, local government and upper house of assembly,  are living large whether in ruling/opposition party they don’t know poverty and they are  sleeping on a full stomach.Few think about the masses. Munhu anoita zvaanoda nepublic office/umuntu uyenza santando ngeoffice kazulu. Abuse of government funds, offices and blocking development.  We want betterment of our people , others are saying no . For , how long my beloved countrymen we are going to block each other. I once came with an initiative of low costing housing in collaboration with Spanish company http://www.chronicle.co.zw/firm-seeks-endorsement-of-cost-effective-houses/. I took the concept to the responsible authority board for approval and they showed interest over the houses. As time progresses ,as I was making a follow up , they told me we can’t see your file . The Spanish company ended up shifting goal posts going to other countries.

I always tell people youth are not a  security threat but they want to see development in future generation before they are lured into things which kills their destiny e.g drugs, prostitution, human trafficking, crime, involving in false religion which lead into believing in terrorism and no longer respecting humanity.. Lets bury political difference for sake of progress and remember we have future generation. It’s about future generation-our youth should be our priority. The fruits of our freedom from colonial bondage should be seen in developing our future generation.Zimbabwe citizens have gone through rough pages over the years.Zimbabweans have cried for a conducive environment all these years which promotes social, political and economical .

What was happening in the past doesn’t matter what matters is what are you going to do from point on? Let us  bury the past forgive each other. We are Zimbabweans called by our motherland which is our country. We are one people. Let us unite. Have heart to develop the economy not to steal and kill the productivity of next generation. Let us build the legacy of our future generation. We are torch bearers of the sunlight to a better Zimbabwe. Before any office position/political party we are Zimbabweans. No one is bigger than our land .We are all equal . Let’s value one another whether you are in remote areas of Kanyemba, Mhondoro ,Harare,Bulawayo,Plumtree,Gwanda etc.

Sisonke Sizokulungisa Mtwakhazi. Together we will build our country.

Mark Zuckerberg(Facebook Guru) The Best Entrepreneur Twenty First Century Ever Produced

Most simply defined, an entrepreneur is a person who identifies a need and starts a business to fill that void. But this basic definition provides little insight into the specific character traits and attributes that make a person thrive as an entrepreneur. An
entrepreneur is an initiator, a challenger and a driver. Someone that creates something new, either an initiative, a business or a company. He or she is the beginning (and sometimes the end) of a venture, project or activity. The entrepreneur might not be the ideator, but he or she is definitely the one that decides to make that idea a reality.Maduo a ditshwantsho a face of mark zuckerberg founder of facebook
Mark Zuckerberg is co-founder and CEO of the social-networking website .Facebook, as well as one of the world’s youngest billionaires. Born on May 14, 1984, in White Plains, New York, Mark Zuckerberg co-founded the social-networking website Facebook out of his college dorm room. He left Harvard after his sophomore year to concentrate on the site, the user base of which has grown to more than 2 billion people, making Zuckerberg a billionaire. Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born on May 14, 1984, in White Plains, New York, into a comfortable, well-educated family, and raised in the nearby village of Dobbs Ferry. His father, Edward Zuckerberg, ran a dental practice attached to the family’s
home. His mother, Karen, worked as a psychiatrist before the birth of the couple’s four children—Mark, Randi, Donna and Arielle.Zuckerberg developed an interest in computers at an early age; when he was about 12, he used Atari BASIC to create a messaging program he named “Zucknet.” His father used the program in his dental office, so that the receptionist could inform him of a new patient without yelling
across the room. The family also used Zucknet to communicate within the house. Together with his friends, he also created computer games just for fun. As parents /guardians we have to notice the great potential/talent in our kids at early age and develop it.To keep up with Mark’s burgeoning interest in computers, his parents hired
private computer tutor David Newman to come to the house once a week and work with Mark. Zuckerberg later studied at Phillips Exeter Academy, an exclusive preparatory school in New Hampshire. There he showed talent in fencing, becoming the captain of the school’s team. He also excelled in literature, earning a diploma in classics. Yet
Zuckerberg remained fascinated by computers, and continued to work on developing new programs. While still in high school, he created an early version of the music software Pandora, which he called Synapse. Several companies—including AOL and Microsoft—expressed an interest in buying the software, and hiring the teenager before graduation. He declined the offers. Most young upcoming entrepreneurs will end up loosing on the way by rushing giving their idea into lucrative deals before it matures. If Mark had rushed for money we could not be knowing him now but he opted for vision than money.Entrepreneur you are visionary -so stick to guidelines not to microwaved opportunities. Vision will bring everlasting lifestyle opportunities.

After graduating from Exeter in 2002, Zuckerberg enrolled at Harvard University. By his sophomore year at the ivy league institution, he had developed a reputation as the go-to software developer on campus. It was at that time that he built a program called CourseMatch, which helped students choose their classes based on the course selections of other users. He also invented Facemash, which compared the pictures of two students on campus and allowed users to vote on which one was more attractive. The program became wildly popular, but was later shut down by the school administration after it was deemed inappropriate. Based on the buzz of his previous projects, three of his fellow
students—Divya Narendra, and twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss—sought
him out to work on an idea for a social networking site they called Harvard Connection. This site was designed to use information from Harvard’s student networks in order to create a dating site for the Harvard elite. Zuckerberg agreed to help with the project, but soon dropped out to work on his own social networking site with friends Dustin Moskovitz, Chris Hughes and Eduardo Saverin. Zuckerberg and his friends created a site that allowed users to create their own profiles, upload photos, and communicate with other users. The group ran the site—first called The Facebook—out of a dorm room at Harvard until June 2004. After his sophomore year, Zuckerberg dropped out of
college to devote himself to Facebook full time, moving the company to Palo Alto, California. By the end of 2004, Facebook had 1 million users. In 2005, Zuckerberg’s enterprise received a huge boost from the venture capital firm Accel Partners. Accel invested $12.7 million into the network, which at the time was open only to ivy league students. Zuckerberg’s company then granted access to other colleges, high
school and international schools, pushing the site’s membership to more than 5.5 million users by December 2005. The site then began attracting the interest of other companies, who wanted to advertize with the popular social hub. Not wanting to sell out, Zuckerberg
turned down offers from companies such as Yahoo! and MTV Networks. Instead, he focused on expanding the site, opening up his project to
outside developers and adding more features.

To cut story short , Mark Elliot Zuckerberg is an American technology entrepreneur and philanthropist best known for co-founding and leading Facebook, as its chairman and chief executive officer. His net worth is estimated to be US$66.4 billion as of April 19, 2018.Net worth is the value of all the non-financial and financial assets owned by an
institutional unit or sector minus the value of all its outstanding liabilities. He went through legal battles but never gave up. Zuckerberg as  an entrepreneur is accountable and responsible. The entrepreneur is the ultimate responsible for the destiny of its
venture, which can be a company, a project, or any other endeavor. The entrepreneur is the one that has the highest stakes at the venture, thus the one that needs to be empowered to fully direct the endeavor. In a market full of uncertainty, it is the entrepreneur who can actually help clear up uncertainty, as he makes judgments or assumes risk. To the extent that capitalism is a dynamic profit-and-loss system, entrepreneurs drive efficient discovery and consistently reveal knowledge. Financial Stability –This first step is not a strict requirement, but is definitely recommended. While entrepreneurs have built successful businesses while being less than financially flush (think of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg as a college student), starting out with an adequate cash supply and ensuring ongoing funding and can only help an aspiring entrepreneur, increasing his or her  personal runway and give him more time to work on building a successful business, rather than worrying about making quick money.

The back bone of economy is in the hands of entrepreneurs. Mark Zuckerberg is a role model to many upcoming entrepreneurs. As an upcoming entrepreneur I am appealing for assistance/sponsors of airfares to attend Africa Trade and Investment Global Summit Conference  being held  24-27 June 2018  in Washington DC USA at the World Trade Center-Ronald Regan Building -1300 Pennsylvania Ave NW ,Washington ,DC 20004.ATIGS 2018 edition will gather 2000 -plus key economic players from more than 70 countries .These players include government delegations , high profile  African Leaders,African buyers, Startups,Project developers, and International Investors.ATIGS 2018 is designed to contribute to Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) Trade Africa,World Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Agenda 2030 and African Union Agenda 2063 by playing an important contributory role in enabling companies and global investors all around the world to access African markets as a one stop shop to facilitate international trade and investment partners that support all internationally agreed sustainable development goals and objectives.
